Earlier last week, Defense Secretary Mark Esper told Fox News that China is the Pentagon's "number one priority". In order to safeguard America, the United States is watching Beijing with a very close eye.
Esper proceeded to tell Fox News that China is actively engaging in the "greatest theft of intellectual property in human history", and that they are spreading their military to "push the US out of the Indo-Pacific theater."
In regard to China, President Trump claimed, "I am the chosen on" to defend the trade war with china. This was in response to a string of criticisms about the potential consequences of China's trade practices.
President Trump was quoted, “Somebody had to do it, so I’m taking on China. I’m taking on China on trade, and you know what? We’re winning...I was put here by people to do a great job. And that’s what I’m doing.”
